Horizons for Youth

A mentorship and scholarship program that pairs kids with 'Big Siblings'

Horizons is a non-profit that helps children from low-resource areas of Chicago graduate from college. They offer one-on-one mentoring, scholarships, enrichment outings, tutoring, and more. They wanted to build a mobile app for their mentors and program managers to use with the following requirements:

The mentor home screen features important alerts, program announcements, and a timeline of photos uploaded by mentors.

Mentors can update their Little Sib's profile to keep track of their goals and interests. They also have access to contact their program manager or the Little Sib's parents.

 

One-on-one meetings can be scheduled by mentors and enrichment outings can be uploaded by program managers.

Program managers can message with different mentors to answer questions, track one-on-one meetings, and send reminders to RSVP for enrichment outings.

The client has been very happy with the design of the app so far. Since launching, we've added integration to Horizon's Salesforce account as well as group messaging for program managers.
