Happy Place VR
A proof-of-concept for a VR “cozy” game, where relaxation is prioritized over reaction speed and competitive play. Players leisurely explore a sandbox environment and complete simple and satisfying interactions like catching bugs and stacking cups. The concept for Happy Place VR came about knowing there’s a mental health epidemic among young adults, many of which don’t have access to mental health services so turn to cozy games as an alternative. This project involved a lot of playtesting to make sure interactions felt just right and players came away feeling better afterwards.
On this project, I acted as creative director and producer. This involved production planning and project management, going from early storyboards and prototypes all the way to an interactive demo. My main technical contributions were in Unity development and QA testing.
